Thursday vs. Longlake
Good Morning Breakers!!!
This Thursday we are hosting Longlake, AND the Tillamook ice cream truck. The parking lot will be completely shut down to keep kids safe as they run across the lot to and from the truck. Tillamook has shared their website with more information about what they'll be offering: https://www.tillamook.com/visit-us/ice-cream-truck
Our theme this week is NEON, so come in your brightest gear possible to blind the competition!
Individual events are on Swimtopia. Please double check that your swimmer is in events if they will be here, and not in events if they will not be here. Relays will be added later, along with heat and lane assignments once the meet is merged with Longlake.
Please arrive by 3:45 on Thursday, check in Coach Zach upon arrival (he'll be outside the gate) and then go to your assigned bullpens. A few reminders: *please be on time! By 4:30, if your swimmer is not here and we don't know where you are, they will be scratched from all events/relays. *Be on time for your shifts! We had multiple bullpen tents with only 1 parent for the first hour. Way too many kids for 1 parent to corral by themselves. *Bullpen parents, I know it's many children with few eyes, but if you could please try to keep them in the tents when they are not swimming, I would appreciate it. Found a few kiddos running up and down the pool deck last week, and a few more trying to destroy my tents. If tents are damaged, that bullpen will no longer have a tent (and believe me, that shade, as little as it is, makes a big difference). *Volunteers please make sure you understand your job before the meet. If you have questions, please ask me sometime between now and Wednesday. Thursday mornings I'm pretty busy prepping for the meet itself.
One last BIG, important item.....COUNTY! Login and commit your swimmers today for the County meet at Georgia Tech. We have to work those lineups this weekend and turn them in earlier than most lineups. We expect our swimmers to be at the County meet just like we expect them at every other meet. County is VERY fun, the kids get to swim in the 1996 Olympic pool, we all go out to eat at The Varsity after. However, it is imperative that if you sign up for county, you attend county. When we submit our lineups, we pay a fee for each swimmer that attends. If you are in the county lineup, and back out, that fee will be passed on to you. If you decide to attend after lineups are submitted, sometimes we can get you in, but it will be a hefty late fee (passed along to you) if we can enter them.
What I'm trying to say.......SIGN IN AND COMMITT OR DECLINE TODAY!
I know that was alot, but I needed to get that information out. Thank you to those who read to the end. My carpal tunnel is worth it if I get this across to half of you.
Thanks,
Jen
